Project management and procurement support to Defence research and development

Defence Science and Technology Group (DSTG) asked Providence to undertake a thorough review and assessment of internal processes to identify a more efficient way to conduct and manage complex research projects and programs, including how to more effectively leverage research outsourced to academia and industry. This subsequently led to Providence establishing a Program Management and Procurement Support Team within Maritime Division. The Team established program and project governance, monitoring, and reporting mechanisms that are now embedded within DSTG programs. This has enabled DSTG scientific and research staff to focus on their core business with the Providence Team gaining the trust of DSTG executives and managers as a genuine capability partner. The Team has subsequently grown in size and mandate to further support DSTG across Maritime; Air and Space; Platforms; and, Science Engagement and Impact Divisions.
