Providence Fellows

Phil Spedding



Phil has 40 years’ Defence experience in operational, capability development, infrastructure planning, and senior leadership roles. Skilled in critical analysis and strategy development, he has sponsored numerous large and complex projects through Government approval. Since retiring from the permanent Navy, Phil combines Naval Reserve service with consulting to Defence and Industry, and membership of a number of advisory boards.

Bill Sowry



Bill’s Defence career included varied senior leadership roles in strategic, operational, and political domains often involving high level diplomacy and international engagement, drawing on his ability to engage widely, build trusted networks and influence outcomes of national and international importance. Bill now balances consulting in organisational transformation and strategic planning, with roles supporting Academia, the application of advanced technologies, and Youth Development as Chair of the Duke of Edinburgh's International Award (ACT).

Luke Martin



Luke Martin is a highly experienced multi-skilled professional. He has strong contemporary strategic planning, business transformation, management, and continuous improvement skills. His approach generates cohesion and ownership from project inception through to delivery and execution. His graduation from AICD represents his commitment to achieving the highest standards of governance in business settings. Luke is a highly decorated and experienced military veteran. He has a wife, three children and enjoys landscaping, martial arts, and guiding hiking groups and outdoor enthusiasts.

Dr Bec jackson



Dr Bec Jackson is Director, Principal Psychologist and Strategic Leadership Coach with the Jackson Company Pty Ltd, focusing on emotionally intelligent and authentic leadership, executive development coaching, team coaching, small group coaching. Dr Bec is an experienced Psychologist of 20 years, bridging private and public sector within Forensic, Organisational and Clinical Roles. She has BA (Hons) and a PhD in Clinical Psychology. Dr Bec is an ambassador for SoldierOn and an advocates for veteran mental health. She is a busy mum of 4 and a successful published author.

Craig Wilkinson



By combining Craig’s 30+ years working across project management, engineering management and executive appointments at Honeywell and Raytheon, Craig helps businesses devise innovative strategic solutions to the problems they face. Craig provides impartial, expertly informed support to help his clients navigate the increasingly complex and interconnected defence industry and the Commonwealth of Australia’s acquisition processes.

Margot Forster CSM

Director, Strategy & Business Development SA and Providence Fellow

Experienced Senior Executive with demonstrated success working in Defence, defence industry and health operations. Skilled in Government, emergency management, operational planning, policy development and change management. Strong experience in leadership and operations management with a Master of Arts (MA) focused on Military Strategic Studies from Deakin University.

Adash Janiszewski

Chief Executive Officer

Adash is an executive operations, management, and risk specialist with extensive experience in the Australian Government and commercial environment. He has provided consulting services for 18+ years in roles requiring leadership, management, governance, and analytical skills. Adash is an experienced at managing commercial operations and adept at operationalising strategies to achieve corporate objectives. Adash is a father to two young daughters, a dedicated family man, and an outdoor and hiking enthusiast.

Craig Furini

General Manager

Craig has successfully led Defence and interagency teams in the most complex and demanding of environments. He is a team builder, problem solver and critical thinker with a proven record of cutting through ambiguity and complexity to provide the clarity, innovation and leadership necessary for organisations to succeed. Craig joined Providence in May 2021 after retiring from the Australian Army as a Major General.

Jess Meadley

Senior Director People and Culture

Jess has created ‘employer of choice’ workforces for 15 years. As a HR specialist executive, Jess provides exemplary business acumen, executive engagement, organisation strategy to successfully manage organisation HR and employee lifecycles, across specialist/Big Four Consulting, Health and Governments’ sectors. Jess is committed to delivering the Providence Promise through: leadership; authentic employee engagement; culture strategy, progressive L&D and recruitment approaches, aligned to deliver excellent professional services for Providence clients.

Tim Slattery

Senior Director Consulting

Tim is passionate about Australia’s national security. Tim joined Providence in 2020 after 37 years working across defence, intelligence, law enforcement, national security policy, Army, and protective security in Australia and overseas. Tim understands the realities of making decisions and delivering effects in dynamic environments with limited resources, using his knowledge and experience to assist clients identify and mitigate security threats and other challenges. Tim reads history and drinks wine.

Malcolm Dick

Senior Director, Strategy & Business Development

Reporting to the General Manager, Malcolm is responsible for the scoping, development, and achievement of Providence's strategic direction, driving market growth and opportunities. With 25 years’ experience across the Defence and National Security environment, Malcolm's focus has been delivering significant new capability, through effective stakeholder engagement, and change. Malcolm loves the outdoors, reading Australian murder mystery novels and following his favourite AFL football team, Carlton.

Independent, Non Executive Director

With 38 years of experience in Defence, retiring as a Rear Admiral in the Royal Australian Navy, Simon now acts as a link and provides strategic advice to clients planning to take advantage of opportunities with Defence or grow their defence business.

Ian Dardis

Strategic Adviser to the Board

Ian Dardis is an expert in professional services firm leadership having held senior executive positions in global firms as well as having a successful career as a Management Consulting Partner with Deloitte . His breadth of executive professional services leadership experience includes global accounting , finance and operation consulting , technology consulting and legal services organisations. He has over 35 years of professional services experience in the financial services, government, utilities and telecommunications industries.

Richard McShane

Chairman of the Board

Richard is an executive leader with over 25 years’ experience in strategy, project and procurement management. For 15 years he led Canberra-based SME, Providence Consulting Group, and has established and led several other businesses. Richard is Member of the AICD and is active on a number of Boards including Providence Consulting, Team Downer MSP and FrontLine Yoga – a not-for-profit delivering free trauma-sensitive yoga to service and other frontline personnel. He is also a Non-Executive Board Member on Canberra-based indigenous consulting firm, Curijo Pty Ltd.
