Our Story

Providence Consulting: an Australian success story

Providence Consulting is an Australian, veteran-initiated professional services firm, established in Canberra in 2005. We work alongside defence, government and industry clients to help them deliver complex outcomes in demanding environments.

We are known for our practical, people-centred approach to consulting grounded in integrity, accountability and a deep understanding of how government organisations operate. Our teams don’t just provide advice; we work with clients to build capability, strengthen assurance, and leave organisations more resilient than we found them.

Operating nationally, Providence delivers support across strategy, governance, program and project delivery, assurance, and organisational change. As part of the Tetra Tech global network, we can also draw on broader specialist capability to support large-scale or technically complex engagements while remaining locally led and accountable.

Meet Our People

Providence’s people are driven by their desire to apply their specialisations, expertise, and values to enable our clients to meet their challenges head-on and realise their futures.

The Providence Promise

The Providence Promise reflects how we work with our clients and with each other.

It is our commitment to be authentic and respectful partners who value different perspectives, experience and ways of thinking. We recognise that complex problems are rarely solved by a single discipline or approach.

Together, Providence, our clients and our people create safe, inclusive and supportive environments where collaboration and critical thinking can thrive. Open, honest and respectful communication underpins everything we do, enabling trust, sound decision making and shared accountability.

This values based approach allows us to deliver meaningful outcomes, support individual and collective growth and achieve success that is shared.

Our Values & Behaviours

Engage with and listen to others

We champion soft skills: we have empathy, we are approachable, and we actively listen. We promote collaboration and respect, and genuinely strive to help our colleagues and clients succeed.

Be humble and work hard

We conduct ourselves with humility: we are not overbearing; we leave our egos at the door and we roll up our sleeves to get the job done.

Be good at what you do and act with integrity

We think critically, we are flexible, and we think before we act. We are pragmatic: We balance the following of processes with the delivery of outcomes. We value openness, honesty and accountability.

Own your mistakes and never stop learning

We actively seek opportunities for personal and professional growth. We see our successes and failures as learning opportunities to be shared.

Have fun, look after yourself, and those around you

We contribute to an enjoyable workplace and maintain a positive work/life balance. We take time out when needed and we look out for others.

Be community minded

We are part of a diverse and vibrant community and seek opportunities to utilise our skills and passions for wider benefit and to support those in need.
