Client Story

Client: Royal Australian Mint (RAMINT)

What: Assessment to prevent the unauthorized exfiltration of RAMINT products by employees

Linked to: Insider threat and risk management

In 2020, the Royal Australian Mint (RAMINT) engaged Providence to conduct a Physical Security Review (PSR) aimed at preventing the unauthorised removal of mint products. Providence assessed physical security controls, procedures, and vulnerabilities through stakeholder interviews, site inspections, and policy reviews.

The review focused on identifying potential exfiltration scenarios within RAMINT’s Production Secure Zone (PSZ) and provided recommendations to mitigate these risks. By examining the internal layers of physical security and procedural controls, Providence identified vulnerabilities that could be exploited to remove RAMINT products without authorisation.

Providence delivered a comprehensive report with actionable solutions to enhance security, enabling RAMINT to improve its security posture and reduce insider threats.

John Cock, RAMINT’s Head of Security, rated Providence’s work 5/5, stating the team was “highly responsive, anticipated needs, and exceeded expectations,” providing an accurate assessment for continuous security improvements.
